Library WiFi and Eduroam Maintenance

Information Services will be carrying out some brief maintenance work on the wi-fi service within the Edinburgh Campus Library at 8.00am on Wednesday 4th March 2015. There may be a brief disruption to the service as the wi-fi access points are reset. This is to help rule out a potential issue relating to Mac Yosemite users.

Essential Network Maintenance - 10th Feb 2015 - 23:00 hours (GMT)

Information Services will be carrying out essential network maintenance at 23:00 hours (GMT) on 10th Feb 2015.

Whilst there should be no disruption to services at this time they should be considered "at risk" around 23:00 hours.

Warning - Spam Message titled "Your document"

If you have received an unexpected message from a colleague within the University titled "Your document" with a message of "Please check your document attached." please delete it and do not open the attachment as it contains a virus.

 

If you have already opened an attachment from a message similar to the one above please contact the IT Helpdesk on  x4045 or at ithelp@hw.ac.uk immediately.

Incoming telephone calls issue - Resolved

Vodafone and BT have restored the service for incoming telephone calls for the Edinburgh Campus.

Phishing / Spam Warning - Incoming Fax Report email

Information Services have received reports of a recent Phishing / Spam email which some staff have received that contains an infected attachment. The message is titled “Incoming Fax Report”. If you receive this message or any other message which contains an attachment, is suspicious in nature or unexpected then please delete it.

If you have opened a suspicious message similar to the one above please contact ithelp@hw.ac.uk or x4045 immediately.
